About Us

Here at Dragon Referrals we have a team of 20 veterinary surgeons and 19 registered vet nurses employed within the team providing a vast collective level of experience. We also have an experienced, permanently employed out-of-hours team which does not rely on inconsistent locums.

We have four certificate-holding vets, including three to Advanced Veterinary Practitioner level in medicine, cardiology and surgery, and multiple other staff members currently undertaking further certificates in additional areas.

These certificate holders have experience in a wide range of cases including:

• Cardiology – new and chronic cardiac patients with the capabilities for full Doppler echocardiograms, ECGs and Holter monitoring and assessment, investigations into fainting/syncope
• Six registered nurses who have completed further training and certificates in nutrition, behaviour and emergency care amongst others
• Medical - complex medical in-patients, medical investigations into conditions such as chronic coughs e.g. bronchoscopy-assisted lavage, nasal disease, chronic vomiting/diarrhoea e.g. endoscopic biopsies, cancer staging and chemotherapy, acute abdomen, pleural effusion investigation/management, investigations into seizures or fainting, investigations into anaemia or thrombocytopenia with blood transfusion facilities, adder bite envenomation management, bone marrow disease diagnosis/management.
• Surgical – Orthopaedic: Management of cruciate disease: TTA/TPLOs, fracture repair, luxating patellar management, elbow arthroscopy for management of elbow dysplasia (in association with RATA Vets).  Soft tissue: liver or lung lobectomies, thoracotomies, perineal urethrostomy, pericardiectomy, adrenalectomies, nephrectomy, enterectomy/enterotomy, cystotomy, splenectomy, ruptured diaphragm repair
